Subject: Keep public access to the ridge via the gate on Kilkare Road
Dear EBRPD:
As residents of the east bay, we are saddened and frustrated by your decision to lock the gate at the end of Kilkare Road. There was no community input. The public has had access to the ridge and Sinbad Creek predating the creation of EBRPD. In fact, Sunolians are the reason EBRPD has a park to manage on the Pleasanton Ridge. Save our Sunol stopped development of the ridge in 1983.
We are politely asking you to restore public access that was denied on May 31, 2025. A "Hike In" gate seems to be the logical and responsible action for EBRPD. Please be good stewards of the land and honor your Mission and Values. Open the gate so the public can use it.
